The kick-off meeting of European project EMBRACIVE “Embracing Diversity and Fostering Inclusion in the Workplace” was, successfully, held online on April 28th and 29th 2020, amid the restrictive measures for the prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic.
This is a new and innovative project that aims to promote diversity, equality and social inclusion in the business sector both in Greece and in Cyprus. The support and promotion of the Diversity Charter, a tool for businesses that has created the theoretical framework for the implementation of equal opportunities and diversity in the work environment is of great importance to the project.
All partners agree on the need to encourage both businesses and all public and private sector organizations to develop and implement diversity and inclusion policies. Research shows that in Greece and Cyprus there are common challenges due to the great similarities in political, cultural and economic level.
The Center for European Constitutional Law (CECL), as the coordinator, the Institute for Industrial and Business Education & Training (IBEPE-SEV), the Center for Social Innovation (CSI) and the Cell of Alternative Youth Activities planned and prepared the project activities and agreed on the common goals. The partners discussed the various stages of the project which include research, training, promotion and evaluation of activities in general. The main objectives of the Embracive project include the promotion of non-discrimination, the fight against racism and intolerance in the business environment.
