Diversity Management Workshop

On Monday 31 January 2022, the Diversity Management Workshop was successfully held online by KEAN for Greece in the framework of the European project Embracive. The Workshop was attended by HR executives from major companies such as Inditex, PPC Renewables SA, Ellinikos Chrysos, Mili Loulis, Ecolab S.A., Printec Hellas S.M.S.A., Chimar Hellas, Labadarios and Partners and Kyvernitis Travel.
The Workshop was opened by the President of KEAN and founder of Diversity Charter Greece, Mr Stavros Milionis.

The 1st part of the workshop was dedicated to the presentation of the Embracive project and its results, the experience gained so far, as well as the business objectives of the participating companies on diversity.

The 2nd part was dedicated to the Diversity Charter for Greek businesses. Katerina Psiha, Communication Manager of Diversity Charter Greece, presented the benefits of the signatories of the Charter, as well as the activities implemented by Diversity Charter Greece.
In the 3rd part, good practices on Diversity from the Greek and international market were presented by Mr Theodoros Katsikis, Inclusion & Diversity Lead of Accenture and Ms Lia Bertsiadou, Inflammation & Immunology Lead, Head of the “Diversity & Inclusion, Action!” initiative of Pfizer in Greece, Cyprus & Malta. In the 4th part “Role Models – Diversity Expert”, people with a positive attitude talked about their own experience and shared with the participants the difficulties they faced and the ways they themselves overcame all the obstacles. Mr Vangelis Avgoulas, President of the organization “Me alla matia” spoke about the right of every citizen to autonomous, equal and safe access and participation in all areas of activities (productive, political, cultural, etc.) of society. Then, Mr Yannis Hadjimbeis, Marketing & Fundraising professional, Paralympian, Ironman, motivational speaker and mentor spoke positively about his own experience, encouraging the participating companies to hire employees representing all pillars of diversity. Finally, Dr Anastasia Kyniwou, Academic Coordinator for Global Online Programmes, Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management at Manchester Metropolitan University stressed the importance of diversity policies.
The 3rd and 4th part of the workshop was jointly attended by businesses from Greece and Cyprus – via Teams.
